What is the difference between Drinking Chocolate and Hot Chocolate?

Traditionally, drinking chocolate requires melting chocolate pieces or nibs directly into hot water or milk, while hot chocolate can be crafted by whisking cacao powder with hot milk or water. The latter often allows for a faster preparation, while the former is a ritual, a pause, a moment to cherish.

Hygge isn't just a word, it’s a Nordic concept based on all things comfortable and cozy. It is snuggling up under a warm blanket, a weekend getaway with friends, picnics in the park, or any other small moments of happiness in everyday life. When we first decided to start our chocolate company, we were looking for a way to incorporate my Scandinavian heritage. We stumbled across the word hygge (hue-guh), which in Norwegian means hug and in other Nordic countries it is a word describing a feeling of comfort. We thought it was the perfect name for our company, because after all what’s more comforting than a piece of great chocolate?
